In this February 17, 2014 photo, the EDSA People Power Commission in Cavite commemorates the 28th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolutionby gathering 3000 participants to form a human yellow ribbon.
MANILA, Philippines - Only classes in schools will be suspended for the 28th anniversary of the People Power Revolution on February 25.
Work in government and private offices are not covered by the suspension order by the Palace.
Many of those who remember the People Power Revolution in 1986 that led to the ouster of former President Ferdinand Marcos, wear yellow, the official color of the anti-Marcos LABAN party of the late President Corazon Aquino.
President Benigno Aquino III, meanwhile, will head to Cebu to celebrate the event with communities devastated by super typhoon Yolanda.
"The President said it was important to rally people in areas affected by calamities in order to rekindle the spirit of EDSA People Power in rebuilding better communities. Hence the original plan to hold the event inMalacañang was shelved," Herminio ColomaJr., the presidential communications chief, said.

After the renewal of the sister cities agreement between Manila and San Francisco, 
San Francisco City Mayor Edwin M. Lee received his honorary degree as Doctor of 
Public Management at PLM last February 19.

PLM plays host to the high-level delegation of the Mayor of San Francisco, California who arrived today to renew the ties between Manila and San Francisco as sister-cities since the 1960s.
PLM is set to confer an honoris causa degree upon Mayor Edwin M. Lee. He stands out particularly in exemplary public service, through hands-on, compassionate, and effective governance as Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco, California, U.S.A.
He is noted for his exemplary character, commitment to optimum efficiency in the delivery of basic public services, balancing the budget to keep San Francisco safe, solvent and successful, reforming City pensions, economic development, job creation and public safety and taking responsibility for building San Francisco’s future, making the city responsive, efficient and accountable through innovation and technology.

event--the American Spaces - Thomas Jefferson Information Center's
American Shelves Roadshow. TJIC turned-over library materials and
equipments to the PLM Library. They also introduced eLibraryUSA 
resources and show documentary videos in celebration on Black History 
Month. Students and faculties showed interest on the importance of online 
resources ans social media engagement.

The US Embassy Manila thru Thomas Jefferson Information Center (TJIC) 
will hold an event called AMERICAN SHELVES ROAD SHOW tomorrow, 
Feb. 7, 2014 at PLM Library. We invite you to attend the said event as they

PLM College of Law Debaters Rena Cuis, Brian Balio, and Aza Alfonso flank Board of Judges Prof. Oscar Franklin Tan (Constitutional Law Professor, U.E. College of Law), RTC Judge Rainelda Montesa, RTC Branch 46 Manila (Chairman) and Atty. Ma. Sophia Editha Cruz-Abrenica (V&A Law) after winning their match last Friday in the ANC Square Off Debates Season 8. After their preliminary victory over Lyceum last December, PLM defeated Cebu Quarterfinalist University of San Jose-Recoletos to reach the semi finals for the second year in a row. PLM will be facing the winner of the quarterfinal match between San Beda College and St. Louis University.
